Meet Dr. Anne Steffen: Our Newest Dentist at Neighborhood Dental East 26!
At Neighborhood Dental East 26, we believe in providing exceptional, patient-centered care. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce our newest associate, Dr. Anne (Annie) Steffen!
Dr. Steffen is originally from Flandreau, SD, and brings a unique background to our team. Before becoming a dentist, she pursued a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Spanish at Augustana University and spent five years as an ER nurse. During this time, she realized she wanted to make a difference before dental issues became emergencies. With the encouragement of a friend, she explored dentistry, shadowed professionals in the field, and quickly fell in love with it.
A Passion for Patient Care
Dr. Steffen is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable, empowered, and educated about their dental health. She enjoys taking the time to explain treatment options, using X-rays, intraoral photos, and models to help patients fully understand their care.
“I want people to understand their treatment. I want to answer questions, draw pictures, and show models so that patients are knowledgeable regarding their dental health.” – Dr. Steffen
Beyond education, she finds instant gratification in helping patients—whether it’s filling a cavity, relieving pain from a dental emergency, or completing a same-day crown.
A Personalized, Patient-First Approach
One of Dr. Steffen’s top priorities is ensuring her patients feel comfortable. She believes in spending time with each patient before starting any procedure, encouraging open discussions, and answering all questions.
“I love to chat with people and usually spend however much time is needed before starting a procedure. If patients have questions, I’m happy to have a discussion prior to starting an appointment—no matter how long it takes.”
She also wants patients to know that they have control over their oral health. While many believe that dental issues are inevitable, she reassures them they can achieve and maintain a healthy smile with the proper care.
Staying at the Forefront of Dental Advancements
Dr. Steffen is committed to staying current with the latest dental advancements. She enjoys reading research articles and keeping up with the latest technology, including CEREC same-day crowns—allowing patients to receive high-quality restorations in just one visit. Ultimately living out our mission at Neighborhood Dental of saving patients pain, time, and money.
Life Outside Of Dentistry
When she’s not helping patients, Dr. Steffen enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and three kids. Whether she’s walking or jogging—often pushing a stroller or wagon—she loves soaking up nature and making memories.
